California Regional Cooking Challenge

For all you foodies who like to cook, I am putting together a list of dishes characteristic of each county in California.  The catch is that you have to make it given only the description of the dish.  This is just for fun; I simply want to know how many people are interested in doing this.  So, let's get started!

Del Norte County

In Del Norte County, traditional dishes associated with the United States such as steak, American-style pizza, and burgers dominate the inland areas.  In the coastal areas, this inland cuisine combines with fresh seafood to create a very filling and less trendy version of seafood cuisine than what people often think of.  This is due probably in part to the fact that 21.5% of the population of the county live below the poverty level (7.2% above that statistic for all of California).  Because many might not be able to get expensive seafood, they make seafood in such a way that it is more affordable, yet still delicious.

BLTF Sandwich

A sandwich with beer-battered cod, bacon, lettuce, and tomato.  Use tartar sauce instead of mayonnaise.
